AI. AI, AI.

Nature is already beginning to show signs of new life. You can already feel the freshness of a new year full of challenges in the air, and with this renewed energy, events focused on promoting and sharing the “state of the art” in technology are also resuming. In early March, VERA attended “Building the Future” and the “Outsystems Executive Lunch.”

In both, the dominant word has only two letters, but it is repeated very often: AI, AI, AI.

It’s interesting, however, that we’re starting to see a shift in the “call to action.” While there’s still a strong emphasis on the directly proportional relationship between investment in artificial intelligence and increased productivity and efficiency, a new perspective is also emerging—one that invites us, in a very healthy way, to pause for a moment and return to the age of asking questions before diving in headfirst out of FOMO (fear of missing out):

  • Why invest? Which processes will benefit? Will it replace human labor? Is the human factor no longer relevant? Am I prepared? Is this the right time?

Experience shows that more than 90% of attempts to implement AI blindly fail. These failures stem primarily from three major reasons: a failure to answer the question “Why do I need AI?”, a lack of maturity in the data ecosystem—including well-defined and agile processes—and the obsolescence of existing business processes.

Furthermore, we are witnessing the beginning of the deconstruction of the idea that AI will serve to replace humans. That is not the case. Humans define, AI executes. That is the perfect symbiosis that will lead this collaboration to success. AI should not bring surprises to business, because surprises have at least a 50% chance of failure. AI should serve as a facilitator that accelerates and amplifies the returns already anticipated, and makes business processes more efficient in capitalizing on opportunities and utilizing all resources—whether they be people, time, or capital.

At VERA, we’ve always taken this approach. We keep AI close at hand, constantly researching and utilizing it, but we never lose sight of the foundational groundwork that’s necessary to ensure AI-based projects are successful and deliver the expected benefits. We don’t use AI just because it’s trendy; we use it in nearly all of our development processes because it optimizes the efficiency of processes that we know how to run effectively. Our solutions “tidy up” and organize data, structuring it into intelligent, logical systems designed to scale and grow with your business, optimize information flows so that they never impact critical operational processes, while ensuring that information is promptly updated whenever needed and promoting agility in critical decision-making by focusing on the key indicators that should be monitored in each business area.

In addition, we prepare ecosystems for advanced AI projects. AI thrives on data. The more valuable the data, the better the results it will produce.

We know where we’ve come from, where we are, and where we need to go, and we invite you to join us on this journey, putting intelligence—whether natural or artificial—to work to achieve results.
