Serving the paint industry since 1965.
Tintauto specializes in the production and distribution of paints and related materials for various industries, particularly the automotive industry.
The market is highly competitive, where factors such as the differentiation of its services can be decisive in winning over customers.
CHALLENGE
Tintauto supplies major auto dealerships with paints and related materials for the auto body repair process. It was the first company in the country to offer a computerized color-matching system, which allows for the formulation of any color with the desired shade and quality, for the automotive sector as well as for industry and the construction industry.
To maximize the benefits of this system, Tintauto needed to make ink consumption data and related information available to its management and customers, without whom it would not be possible to optimize these metrics.
SOLUTION
Vera IB has developed a BI system that automatically provides paint consumption metrics and related data to customers in the automotive industry, consolidating data from various repair shops into a single database and presenting it on user-friendly dashboards.
Tintauto can now track paint consumption by shop and customer, identifying consumption patterns and potential areas for optimization, while shops can assess the correct consumption of paint and related materials per repair.
Vera IB applies the CRISP-DM methodology to its data management projects, beginning with an understanding of the business before proceeding to data analysis. Initially, it assessed the specific characteristics of the business and the types of data available to meet Tintauto’s information needs.
The project involved creating a process for automatically extracting data from the computers in the various workshops, thereby overcoming the challenge posed by the lack of a single data source. The communication mechanism underwent several iterations before it became stable.
RESULTS
It is now possible to obtain accurate information on paint consumption and related data, identify consumption patterns, detect waste or unusual situations, and make comparisons between customers, between repair shops, and between types of repairs.
The entire relationship between Tintauto and its customers becomes “richer,” given the visibility into this data
